At the special request of Farlang, Elyse wrote a number of previews on a major antique jewelry auction taking place in 2012. Rather than just reviewing the piece she also offered some insights in what made the piece collectible and why, and to which degree it stood out among other, similar, collector pieces known in literature. They form collector mini-factoids.
Elyse is the author of the book "Jewelry and Metalwork in the Arts & Crafts Tradition", co-author of "Imperishable Beauty: Art Nouveau Jewelry" and author of the catalogues "International Art Jewelry, 1895-1925". She lectures and teaches jewelry history in addition to her activities as co-director of ASJRA, co-director of its annual conference and being publisher/Executive Editor of Adornment, The Magazine of Jewelry & Related Arts.
She was the guest curator for "Jewelers of the Hudson Valley" at The Forbes Galleries in 2010 and curated half a dozen other exhibitions since then. The most recent one is the “Out of This World: Jewelry from the Space Age” which toured and showed at the Carnegie in 2015.
