This is a very unusual color for a 3.01 ct Spessartite, it is somewhat of a cross between Mandarin Orange Spessartite and a manganese and iron rich Hessonite.
This is a very unusual color for a 3.01 ct Spessartite….it is obviously orange (due to Manganese ions trapped in the structure) but it must also have trace amounts of iron that modify this gems color to this unique appearance.
I really like it…it is somewhat of a cross between Mandarin Orange Spessartite and a manganese and iron rich Hessonite (cinnamon stone). The nice thing about it being Spessartite is that is RI is high so it really shows off some astounding brilliance! A very cool gem at a very reasonable price!
