Even with just 2 rings, they nicely twist the optics of the pavilion reflection pattern to skew it reminiscent to the whirls of a nautilus shell.
This is a modification of my First Place Award Winning design… this one in incorporated with 2 concave concentric rings rather than the 3 that the actual award winning gem had (but was SO much bigger in size).
Even with just 2 rings, they nicely twist the optics of the pavilion reflection pattern to skew it reminiscent to the whirls of a nautilus shell. A great design, simply elegant, but difficult to do.
