Baachanalia

A Bacchanalian fantasy pearl neckpiece with interCHANGE clasp. Inspired by a collection of naturally formed leaf-shape Chinese freshwater pearls which are set with white and natural fancy colour diamond stems and accented with clusters of grapes made of tiny Chinese freshwater pearls, drop shaped Chinese freshwater pearls and varied grape leaves made of 18 kt rose, yellow, green and 19 kt white gold. All components are suspended from Vietnamese Akoya pearl links which terminate in large Chinese freshwater drop shaped pearl finials. interCHANGE clasp holds an antique carved shell cameo depicting the young Baachus (Dionysus) surrounded by multi-coloured 18K gold leaves.

Materials used:
Sixteen naturally formed leaf-shaped vari-coloured Chinese freshwater pearls (approx. 27 x 22 x 5 mm)
22 drop shape Chinese freshwater pearls (2 approx. 16 x 10 mm, 20 approx. 11 x 8mm)
12 grape clusters made of small Chinese freshwater pearls (2.5-3.5 mm)
32 Vietnamese Akoya pearls (6-6.5 mm)
Antique carved shell cameo (32 x 25 mm)

Gemstones used:
250 round brilliant cut diamonds (white and natural fancy yellow, greenish-yellow and copper-brown – 1.25 ct total weight)

Metals used:
18 kt rose, yellow and green gold
19 kt white gold
